Student Support

  • Print

From the moment you enroll at one of our Westwood campuses, our student support staff is standing by to offer help and assistance. They can assist you with the many concerns that arise as you make the transition to college. We offer an array of services available every step of the way.

New student orientation and tours

Westwood offers new-student orientation sessions before the start of each term. Prospective students and their families are also invited to tour the campus nearest you when you are in the process of choosing a school. To schedule a private tour, please call your Westwood admissions representative. An online orientation is available for students enrolled in an online program.

Housing

Each Westwood campus has a housing coordinator who helps students arrange safe, affordable housing in nearby apartments or rental homes. When possible and appropriate, we arrange for roommates. This often allows students of the same age, gender, and school program to share housing costs, carpool to and from school and develop new friendships.

Learning commons and library

Each Westwood campus has staffed learning commons for students, faculty and staff. Periodicals, printed reference resources and online information databases, such as LexisNexis, are available for student use. Computer stations also provide Internet access. WiFi is available throughout most campuses for students with laptops.

Career preparation

At Westwood, we provide career advising from the moment you begin classes. Getting to know you and your career goals will help us guide and prepare you throughout college.

Student activities

Student activities, such as fundraisers and social activities are available on each particular campus. Examples include intramural sports, dances, food drives and much more. More information is available under the Campus Life tab for the location of interest. Students interested in participating should request information from the student services office.

Advisor program

Advisors are available to help individual students with various issues such as class attendance, financial challenges or personal concerns.

Tutoring program

No matter what the subject, free tutoring is available for every Westwood student.

Dispute resolution hotline

We recognize that academic and non-academic issues may come up that you may feel are unresolved.

Often, the most direct route to resolve an academic issue is via your instructor or the program director/academic dean. Similarly, for non-academic issues, we recommend you approach your student services advisor and/or the director of student services.

However, if this does not satisfy your need for any reason, please call our Dispute Resolution Hotline at 888-331-3036. Your call will be returned quickly by someone who can help you find a solution.
