Network and Systems Administrator
- Design, install and support an organization’s computer systems
- Ensure the efficient operation of the company’s data centers, maintain network hardware and software, analyze problems and monitor networks to ensure their availability to system users
- Responsible for local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), network segments and Internet and intranet systems
- Monitor and diagnose network and server problems, develop policy and protocol and mentor staff to achieve high standards of operations and service
Network Manager
- Assess the necessary hardware required by a company’s LAN, implement, configure and provide ongoing support of network hardware and firmware
- Evaluate the need for upgraded or additional hardware and software on a consistent basis
- Implement and maintain network security to ensure data and communications security
- Implement and maintain virus protection and backups for the company’s servers to prevent loss of data and damage of hardware and software
Database Administrator
- Utilize database management systems software and determine ways to organize and store data
- Ensure the performance of the database management system and add new users to the system
- Identify user needs and set up new computer databases
- Integrate data from outdated systems into new systems, plan and coordinate security measures with network administrators
- Test and coordinate modifications to the system when needed, troubleshoot problems when they occur

Denver, CO – Westwood College - Denver North Campus (www.westwood.edu) announced that it expanded its Cisco Networking Academy with an updated three-year bachelor’s program. Information Technology: Major in CISCO Network Systems now offers a specialized approach in advanced certifications taught by certified Cisco Network professionals. Other Cisco-related degree programs taught at Westwood College have seen 95 percent of graduates finding jobs in their field of study.

Denver, CO - Westwood College (www.westwood.edu) announced today it has doubled the amount of degree programs previously offered at its Dallas and Fort Worth campuses.
