Automotive Technology
Degree level:
Associate
When a friend’s car breaks down, do you get the call?
If so, an associate degree in automotive technology may be for you. Our program gives you the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in fundamental automotive repair. In our program, you’ll learn by doing in training labs that contain automotive testing equipment, such as handheld scanners, alignment machines and other computerized diagnostic tools. Combining classroom theory with the hands-on training you get by working directly on vehicles, our program offers the advantage of having already applied the skills that will be required of you once you start your career.
Our degree has been evaluated by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and meets the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) standards of quality for the training of automobile technicians in all areas, including brakes, electrical/electronic systems, engine performance, suspension and steering, automatic transmission and transaxle, engine repair, heating and air conditioning and manual drive train and axles. Instructors with field experience provide a practical and knowledgeable source of education.
With your associate degree in hand, you’ll be prepared to succeed in entry-level positions, like an automotive technician/mechanic, fleet mechanic, transmission technician or parts sales manager.
