Westwood College Students Take Home Ten ADDY® Awards

Students’ Work Honored at Annual Orange County Advertising Award Events

LOS ANGELES (May 13, 2010) – Students from Westwood College recently celebrated a successful award night with the Orange County Ad Club, a chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), by taking home a total of 10 ADDY® Awards for their work in graphic and creative design.

During the Ad Club’s annual award night, Westwood students took home two of the top awards with Toni Wycoff receiving the 2010 Academic Achievement Award honoring academic talents in advertising-related disciplines and Efren Pena receiving the Best of Show Award for his poster titled “Predator.” In addition, Westwood students also received two gold, four silver and two bronze awards.

“This is an outstanding performance by our School of Design students, and we are thrilled by their accomplishments,” said Bob Peterson, Westwood College Design Program Chair. “The recognition of Westwood students by the Orange County Ad Club speaks to how we emphasize real-world experience and help students graduate with skills that are immediately applicable to their career paths.”

All Westwood students receiving ADDY awards this year are enrolled in one of the college’s eight design programs. The School of Design is a professional and constructive environment where students learn practical skills for their careers. Courses are taught by professionals in the design industry, so content is engaging, challenging and relevant. The School of Design is one of Westwood’s most popular programs and offers both bachelor’s and associate degrees.
