Houston (June 30, 2010) – Westwood College recently named Kim Nugent as president of its Houston South Campus. With more than two decades of experience in higher education, Nugent brings a diverse set of skills and education management experience with her. Prior to joining Westwood College she served 17 years with Education Management Corporation (EDMC), which owns the Art Institutes, Argosy University, Brown Mackie College and South University. For the past five years, she was responsible for faculty development across all the institutions at EDMC. She has also served as a regional vice president and was the campus president at the Art Institute in Houston.
“We are very pleased to welcome Kim to Westwood College and believe her contributions will lead the campus into an exciting period of renewed student support and growth,” said Rick Skinner, Westwood College’s regional vice president - Texas. “Kim is a proven leader in the education field and we look forward to leveraging her experience at the Houston South campus.”
Nugent is a native Houstonian and holds several academic credentials including a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Houston, two master’s degrees from Capella University and the University of St. Thomas and a doctorate from the University of Houston in education-curriculum and instruction.
