Nine students from Westwood College’s Dallas campus participated in a community service event for Habitat for Humanity last weekend. Ki Thompson, Business & Construction Management Program Chair, organized the Westwood College Work Group as part of the construction management club helped organize with the students.
The Student Work Group included Jan Gilbert, Andy Monroe, Terry Ramirez, Conrado Aguilar, Thomas Hoover, Raymundo Cervantes, Dustin Dunegan, Ernest Irving and Ryan Madlock, They spent the day placing siding and trim on a newly constructed house, scheduled to be completed in late March. Most of the students are Construction Management majors, and gained valuable hands on experience while giving back to the community.
Habitat for Humanity will invite the group to future open build jobs throughout the year, and any staff, faculty or student can participate.
