DENVER, March 4, 2011 – The Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE) voted today to resume “Full Authorization” status for Westwood College’s three Denver campuses. This follows a decision last month by the college’s national accrediting body, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), to remove the campus from probation and grant it a renewal of accreditation for the next three years.
ACCSC placed the Denver North campus on probation in August 2010. In response to the action by ACCSC, CCHE placed Westwood’s three Denver campuses on probation in December 2010.
“We have a long, productive history of working with our accrediting and state regulatory agencies on behalf of our students,” said George Burnett, Westwood College system president. “This latest decision affirms our compliance with their standards including our ability to meet educational and employment requirements. More importantly, it reaffirms our ongoing commitment to help our students and graduates change their lives for the better.”
