We are proud to offer a flexible learning environment to members of the armed forces on 14 campuses and through our online offerings.

Whether you are on active duty, a member of the reserves, a veteran or a retiree, you can take advantage of a variety of degree programs to help supplement your career in either the military or private sectors. Options span the fields of design, technology, healthcare, business, automotive technology, and justice.1 We make it our mission to help students find meaningful careers in their industry of study.

Paying for college as a military applicant

Our student finance specialists are ready to help guide you through the student financing process so you can focus your attention on earning a degree. Westwood accepts a number of government-supported student aid programs on behalf of military members and veterans, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program Learn more about your options and explore your benefit eligibility by visiting those websites and our Military Resource Center. You may also wish to review a comparison of the Post-9/11 GI Bill and other GI Bills. We are committed to working with each military student to ensure the maximum amount of educational benefits available through federal programs.2

Transfer credits from exams and military experience

You may be eligible to receive credit for selected formal military coursework and training. Westwood College uses the credit recommendations of the American Council on Education's (ACE) Guide for the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services to evaluate both military classroom and experiential training. This council continuously evaluates military schools, correspondence courses and occupations to determine the amount of college-level credit available. DANTES and CLEP exams can also be submitted for consideration. Based on the applicability of the particular examination to programs at the college, you may be eligible to receive course credit. We recommended checking with the campus before taking any exam to ensure the credit can be transferred into your degree program. Each service branch has its own system for recording military education and experience credits and can provide copies of your transcripts. Coursework or training must be similar in scope and credits to a Westwood course in order to receive credit for a particular class.
