Jan. 23, 2006 (Houston, Texas) - Westwood College, a nation-wide system of hands-on career colleges, recently had its Houston campus honored by the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce during its Fifth Annual Power Play Outstanding Business Awards for "Superior Customer Service" in the large business sector. Awards were presented at the Chairman's Gala on Thursday, Jan. 19.

As part of its submission for the award entry, Westwood College provided statistics from its student customer satisfaction surveys. Findings included that 95 percent of the students surveyed would recommend the school to a friend and that 94 percent of students believe that the instructors are interested in their individual progress, are knowledgeable, and are prepared for class, all strong indicators of Westwood's outstanding customer service.

"The superior customer service award acknowledges Westwood College's administration for its exceptional service for the students and faculty which exceeds all expectations by the college's clients and our community," said Trish Wise, Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce CEO and president. "The atmosphere is warm and caring and it's clear that the faculty wants the students to succeed."

Added Rick Skinner, Westwood College - Houston South Campus Executive Director, "We are thrilled to be recognized by the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce. Receiving this award is truly a testament to our students, faculty and administrators."

Conveniently located off of the Southwest Freeway at Fondren Road, the campus offers a variety of degree and diploma programs, including Graphic Design and Multimedia, Computer Network Engineering, Computer Aided Design/Architectural Drafting, Medical Assisting and Medical Insurance Coding and Billing.

"Westwood College students and faculty have a mutual respect and understanding for each other, and that is the key ingredient for our high student, faculty and administrator satisfaction rankings and growth," said Skinner.

Since Westwood College opened its Houston campus in 2003, college administrators have facilitated course evaluations and customer satisfaction ratings every term. As a result, the Houston campus also was awarded the "2004 Campus of the Year for Outstanding Customer Service" from its nationwide system of 21 campuses.
